Soroptimist International of Pasco-Kennewick is seeking applications for $11,000 in grants. The four grants will go to women either already in business or seeking education and training to further their business skills.

The grants and deadlines for application are:
-- The Women's Opportunity Award is for women who head households re-entering the work force seeking either an undergraduate degree or a skills training program and who can demonstrate financial need. Grants for $2,000 and $1,000. Deadline is Dec. 15. Applications will be available at the Columbia Basin College Financial Aid office and Washington State University-Tri-Cities.

-- Professional-Technical Award is for women who are seeking a technical degree or certificate, other than an academic degree. Grants for $2,000 and $1,000. Deadline is Jan. 15. Applications will be available at the CBC Resource Center and Financial Aid office.
-- The Fellowship Award is for women established in business or one of the professions who conducts her business or profession competently and according to ethical standards; holds a bachelor's or master's; and presents a plan of worthwhile postgraduate study leading to an advanced degree. Grant of $2,000. Deadline is Jan. 10. Applications will be available through the WSU-TC.
-- The Helen Cox Business Award is for an exceptional woman who has been accepted into a business or accounting-related major (with a junior standing) who has demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities and presents a plan to maximize her career potential. Grant of $2,000. Deadline is Jan. 15. Applications will be available through the WSU-TC.
