A two-mile stretch of Highway 397 in Finley was closed Tuesday afternoon because of a downed power line, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. The line fell at 1 p.m. between South Finley and Piert roads.
The power line was removed and the road reopened just after 4 p.m., WSDOT said.
The downed power line caused 44 Benton Public Utility District customers to lose power, but it was restored by 2:30 p.m., PUD spokeswoman Karen Miller said. No one was injured when the power line fell.
Benton PUD does not know what caused the power line to fall, Miller said.
