The Movoto real estate research blog has named Richland one of the top cities in Washington.
The rankings are based on factors from commute times to cost of living to crime rates, education and home values. Movoto singled out Richland for its average commute time of 20 minutes and lower-than-average cost of living.
"Richland also scored well with a crime rate 3 percent below the state's average and a pretty solid median household income of over $65,500, to boot," according to the blog post.
Richland ranked No. 10. The city of more than 51,000 residents is the only one from Eastern Washington on the list.
Issaquah took the top spot, followed by Bellevue and Kirkland. Olympia, the state's capital, tied for fourth place with Mercer Island.
Seattle ranked No. 9.
Gary Ballew, Richland's economic development manager, noted that Richland and the Tri-Cities "continue to receive national and regional recognition for being a great place to live, work and play."
"(The rankings) give us a head start when we meet with companies thinking about expanding and help when companies who choose to relocate need to bring in some of their existing staff," he said in a statement.
