Ground was broken Thursday on a new main restroom at the Benton County fairgrounds.
The new facility will have twice the capacity of the existing main restroom. Construction will take about 170 days, said Dean Docken, the county's facilities manager.
"Obviously, it's needed. It's going to be nice to have a nice modern facility," Docken said.
The general contractor is Pipe of Washington, based in Pasco. The construction price tag is about $550,000.
