Silver Mountain Resort opens Nov. 29 for skiing, boarding, tubing, snowshoeing and scenic rides. The first gondola loads at 8:15 a.m., with skiing and tubing starting at 9 a.m.
There will be plenty of family activities including a traditional Thanksgiving dinner at Noah's Canteen, a showing of Warren Miller's "Ticket to Ride" on Nov. 29 and a Village Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony on Nov. 30 that includes caroling.
Currently there is a 10-inch snow base at the Mountain House and 22 inches at Kellogg Peak. NOAA is forecasting another storm system for Nov. 29. For more information http://www.silvermt.com.
