No arrests have been made in a stabbing over the weekend in downtown Kennewick that put at 28-year-old man in the hospital.
Witnesses to a fight inside Jack Didley's that led to the stabbing have been uncooperative with police, said Ken Lattin, Kennewick police spokesman. Staff at the bar pointed out the witnesses to police, though they refused to give officers information.
Phillip Gonzalez got into an argument with some people inside the bar a little before midnight on Saturday, Lattin said. Gonzalez and the people were then kicked out of the bar.
As Gonzalez walked on West Kennewick Avenue near Benton Street, he was attacked and stabbed with a sharp object at least one time, Lattin said. He was treated at Trios Health in Kennewick following the incident.
It's unclear if multiple suspects were involved in the stabbing or how the fight inside the bar started.
Police continue to investigate the incident. Anyone with information can contact Tri-Cities Crime Stoppers confidentially at 509-586-8477, 1-800-222-8477 or www.tricitiescrimestoppers.org.
