A Kennewick woman faces second-degree robbery charges after allegedly elbowing and biting a grocery store security guard, police said.
A security officer at WinCo Foods, 4602 W. Clearwater in Kennewick, reportedly saw Candida Maria Suarez, 22, put a package of meat in her purse and leave the store with another woman without paying on Friday, police said.
The loss prevention officer confronted Suarez and another woman outside the store. Suarez began arguing but went back inside the store with the officer.
When Suarez tried to leave the store, the officer took her to the ground to handcuff her, police said.
She allegedly bit him on the wrist and elbowed him in the mouth while he tried to handcuff her. The other woman then left with the purse with the meat and has not been found.
Suarez was booked into the Benton County jail.
