Dottie Fisher Washburn and Dale Washburn will celebrate their 61st wedding anniversary on Nov. 15. They met while stationed at Camp Polk, La. in 1952. Dottie was a first lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps and Dale was a second lieutenant in the Army Corps of Engineers. They say it's important for couples to have separate lives in addition to common interests. Now,  they play bridge together, while Dale creates fused glassworks, fishes and ties flies.
