A lecture by a University of Washington associate professor and a display of historic quilts is planned for the third weekend of the observance of Hanford's 70th anniversary.
Bruce Hevly, co-author of Atomic Frontier Days -- Hanford and the American West, will speak at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Richland Players Theatre. Cost is $10 and tickets are available at www.ourhanfordhistory.org.
The White Bluffs Quilt Museum at 294 Torbett St. in Richland plans an exhibit called Homespun History: Quilts and Textiles from White Bluffs, Hanford and the Manhattan Project.
Quilts dating back to the 1800s will be on display the rest of the month after a free opening reception 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
