Friends of Anna Curiel of Pasco are organizing a piano concert Saturday to raise money to help defray her medical bills.
Curiel is a nurse with the Hospice at the Chaplaincy in Kennewick and has already fought leukemia twice and beaten it. However, a few months ago she learned it had returned.
Curiel has had to leave her job at the Chaplaincy and the insurance her husband, Noe, has isn't enough to cover the medical costs.
Portland pianists Erik Flaten and Stephanie Cooke are donating their time and talents for the concert, which begins at 3 p.m. at the Kennewick First Presbyterian church, 2001 Kennewick Ave.
Never miss a local story.
The concert includes music by Chopin, Liszt and Gershwin.
There also will be a silent auction and a dessert buffet.
There is no admission charge but donations will be welcomed. There also is an account set up called Friends of Anna Curiel at HAPO Community Credit Union.
