Northwest MedStar, the region's critical care transport program, has added a new EC135 helicopter to its fleet.
The new EC135 will provide greater access to communities in Eastern Washington, northern Idaho, western Montana and northeastern Oregon, according to a release. The helicopter flies into Tri-City and Walla Walla hospitals today.
"The EC135 has the latest safety enhancements, patient safety and critical-care capabilities," said Roger Casey, Northwest MedStar's new Tri-City base chief.
Northwest MedStar purchased the Eurocopter EC135 helicopter that includes the next generation of avionics and enhanced situational awareness for pilots. It can be spotted by its updated paint design. Northwest MedStar now has five helicopters serving the region, in addition to its fixed-wing aircraft and ground ambulances.
