Student enrollment numbers continued to climb in Pasco on the third day of school. The district added 730 more students, compared to last year.
Pasco School District administrators met Thursday, as they will continue to do throughout this week and past the Labor Day holiday, to look at student enrollment data, according to a release from the district. When numbers are steady, administrators will make decisions regarding class overloads and the possible transfer of some students, the release said. There are 16,079 students in the district as of Thursday, the release said.
Thursday's enrollment numbers compared to last year are:
-- 8,342 students in grades K-5, an increase of 455, or 5.77 percent.
-- 3,589 students in grades 6-8, an increase of 135 or 3.91 percent.
-- 4,238 in grades 9-12, an increase of 140 or 3.49 percent.
