A section of Fourth Avenue in Pasco closed by the late Tuesday fire at the Liberty Theater is expected to reopen Friday.
Workers hope to have Fourth Avenue reopened between Lewis and Clark streets by mid-morning today, city engineer Mike Pawlak said. A crane has been on site removing debris from the theater and tearing down parts of the building that were unstable. The city will still need to clean the street once all the debris is cleaned up, Pawlak said.
"There's probably still some soot and dirt and dust," he said.
Around 60 firefighters from seven agencies worked to keep the flames from spreading.
