The former mayor of Mesa in Franklin County is requesting information on all Level 1 sex offenders for Benton County, according to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office will provide Donna Zink with the information on Aug. 18 unless an injunction is filed by the sex offenders, Sgt. Kevin McCary said.
The sheriff’s office doesn’t regularly release information on Level 1 sex offenders, who are considered the least likely to re-offend. However, the information is a public record that can be requested.
A letter was sent to the offenders notifying them of her request and the county’s plan to release it.
Franklnin County already has released the same information to Zink.
Zink could not be reached by the Herald about her request.
Zink previously sued the city of Mesa over her frustrations with getting public records related to building permits.
Currently there are 420 Level 1 sex offenders in Benton County. That number includes juvenile offenders.
