Authorities are searching for a 20-year-old Quincy man who allegedly shot another man multiple times in a blueberry orchard.
The shooting took place around 7:30 a.m. Friday in the orchard at the 20300 block of Highway 28 just west of Quincy, said Kyle Foreman, spokesman for the Grant County sheriff's office.
Arnoldo Cazares Mendoza allegedly shot the victim multiple times in the stomach, Foreman said. The victim was flown to Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee. His condition was not immediately available.
Mendoza got into a pickup truck after the shooting and drove to a nearby orchard, where he abandoned the truck, Foreman said.
Never miss a local story.
It's unclear what prompted the shooting or what the relationship is between Mendoza and the victim, Foreman said.
Mendoza should be considered armed and dangerous and the sheriff's office is asking people to stay away from Road 9 near Quincy.
Anyone with information about Mendoza's whereabouts should call 911.
