Benton County Mosquito Control will aerial spray for mosquitoes over parts of Kennewick, Richland and Finley on Monday, weather permitting.
Officials say residents who own bees or fish ponds might want to cover them as a precaution during the spraying, though the low level of pesticide used should prevent negative effects. They also ask that residents wash any fruits or vegetables in the spray area, which also includes parts of Grandview and Mabton.
Though West Nile virus has not yet been detected in Benton County, overall mosquito numbers are considered high in the areas scheduled for spraying.
