Two Hermiston women were arrested on forgery charges after police say they were involved in a counterfeit ring that produced fake payroll checks.
The women were arrested by Hermiston police for allegedly making and passing the fake checks from several businesses, said Hermiston Police Chief Jason Edmiston. The arrests were a result of a monthlong investigation.
Brianna Marie Roach, 19, and Alexandra Maria Rogers, 22, were arrested Thursday and booked into the Umatilla County jail.
Police said the ring may have spread into other communities and want people to watch for the fake checks with Becker Construction, USA Subs & Grill and Bealls names on them, Edmiston said.
Never miss a local story.
More arrests are possible, he said.
