Cooler and damp weather is expected through the rest of the work week in the Mid-Columbia, according to the National Weather Service.
An unseasonably cold low pressure system will move into the Pacific Northwest today and remain over the region through much of the rest of the week. Temperatures could be 10 degrees or more below normal starting Wednesday.
Today, the high is expected to be 73 degrees in the Tri-Cities, dropping to 67 degrees Wednesday. Highs Thursday and Friday should be near 70 degrees.
A 40 percent chance of showers is forecast today, with rain also possible through Friday. The low pressure system also will bring breezy weather, with wind gusts as high as 29 mph today.
