West Richland police have solved the mystery of an orphan bullet.
It turns out a neighborhood boy found it and threw it, unknowingly hitting a home on the 2000 block of Pheasant Lane around 2:05 p.m. Friday, police said. A woman heard something hit her house and found the small bullet, described as similar to one used for a muzzle loader.
She reported it to police.
The boy's father saw an item in the Herald about the bullet and contacted police, a news release said.
