PENDLETON, Ore. -- The National Weather Service predicts a warm front will spread rain and snow Sunday night and Monday over the Mid-Columbia.
Widespread overrunning precipitation will begin as snow mixed with rain at lower elevations Sunday evening and change to rain as the front moves north and east.
In the lower Columbia Basin and the foothills of the Blue Mountains, snow mixed with rain will change to rain Monday morning. Freezing rain is possible in pockets of colder air.
In the upper Yakima Valley and along the east slopes of Washington Cascades, conditions will keep the precipitation as snow until Monday afternoon.
In the mountains of northeast Oregon mountains and the Blue Mountains, the precipitation will remain predominately snow.
