A 22-year-old Kennewick man was arrested Saturday afternoon on suspicion of burglary, assault and kidnapping.
Bertoldo Bustos' estranged wife had a valid no-contact order against him when he allegedly broke into their apartment, assaulted her and left with their 3-year-old daughter, according to a news release from the Kennewick Police Department.
About four hours after Bustos was seen leaving the apartment with the daughter, his vehicle was spotted on Highway 12 near Burbank, police said.
He reportedly let the child go, then fled from Franklin County sheriff's office, according to the release.
