Late-night drivers on Highway 240 in Richland need to prepare for lane closures as crews work to remove and replace stripes on the highway.
About two miles of Highway 240 will be restriped from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning today through Friday, said state Department of Transportation officials.
Drivers may experience delays.
Instead of painting stripes, crews are using a more durable, plastic-like striping material that is expected to last longer than paint and withstand the wear and tear from weather and vehicles, officials said.

The restriping effort is part of a $2.7 million safety project to restripe high-traffic locations around the state.
