CONNELL -- Officials at Coyote Ridge Corrections Center were on alert Tuesday night because of a brush fire burning near the prison.
The fire in north Franklin County was about three-quarters of a mile away from the facility as of 8:30 p.m., said Lori Wonders, prison spokeswoman.
Wonders said the prison was not being evacuated, but officials were operating under an advisory warning.
Fire crews were on scene battling the blaze. No other information was immediately available on the brush fire.
