A 20-year-old Richland man was arrested early Tuesday morning after reportedly being found intoxicated at Columbia Point Marina, firing a handgun and spitting in the face of a Richland police officer.
Officers were called to the marina just after 6 a.m. after someone reported a man had broken a car's window and fired a gun in the area, according to a release from the Richland Police Department.
The officers found Bryan Aho, a convicted felon, sitting in the front seat of a car when they arrived. Aho was uncooperative when he was ordered out of the vehicle and struggled with the officers, spitting in the face of one.
During Aho's arrest, .22-caliber ammunition allegedly fell from one of his pockets, and officers found narcotics and drug paraphernalia on him, police reported. A pistol was discovered under the seat, and officers found evidence he had fired the gun into a vehicle, damaging it, police said.
Aho was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, third-degree assault on a police officer, minor in possession of alcohol, reckless endangerment and possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia.
