A 15-year-old Kennewick boy was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in critical condition late Sunday night after he crashed a vehicle in southeast Kennewick.
Hospital officials declined to provide a status update for the boy Monday. The Kennewick Police Department is continuing its investigation of the crash.
Police were called to the intersection of 45h Avenue and Beech Street at 11:20 p.m. after residents reported hearing a car crash, according to a release.
Officers found a red Kia four-door sedan had crashed through a fence and collided with a tree after the driver lost control and the car left the roadway.
The boy was the only occupant of the vehicle and was unconscious when found. He was not wearing a seatbelt, which authorities said contributed to his injuries along with the speed of the vehicle.
