State education officials gave the highly achieving designation to two Richland elementary schools with students at risk of failing.
Lewis & Clark and Sacajawea elementary schools are Title 1 Rewards Schools as identified by the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction, according to a release from the Richland School District.
Both receive extra funding to help provide additional instructional services to students who are designated as being at the most risk of failing or not meeting state standards in math and reading.
Lewis & Clark was awarded for being a High Performing School for improving student scores in reading and math during the past three years.
Sacajawea received the High Progress School award for being in the top 10 percent of Title 1 schools in math and reading for the past three years.
