Pasco residents are encouraged to apply for the police department's citizen academy.
The eight-week course starts Sept. 11 and includes a session with the department's crime scene investigator describing how evidence can indicates what happened.
The class meets from 7 to 9 p.m. every Tuesday through Oct. 30.
Applicants must be Pasco residents or employed by the city, at least 18 years old and able to pass a criminal background check.
