Lourdes Medical Center and Lourdes Counseling Center earned The Joint Commission's "Gold Seal of Approval" for accreditation, hospital officials said Wednesday.
The hospital underwent an unannounced site survey in May during which Joint Commission surveyors evaluated the hospital for compliance with standards of care specific to the needs of patients, a news release said.
Criteria included infection prevention and control, leadership and medication management.
The Joint Commission accredits more than 19,000 health care organizations and programs nationwide, including more than 10,300 hospitals. It is the nation's oldest and largest health care accrediting and standards-setting body.
