ROOSEVELT -- A Vancouver, Wash., woman died early Monday afternoon when the motorcycle she was riding on crashed on Highway 14, 13 miles east of Roosevelt, the Washington State Patrol said.
Troopers identified the woman as Gloria Edwards, 61.
Edwards was thrown when the rear tire failed on the 1982 Honda Goldwing motorcycle. She died from internal injuries, the state patrol reported.
The motorcycle was driven by Mark Edwards, 57, of Vancouver. He sustained a broken shoulder and multiple broken ribs and was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, th state patrol reported.

The accident occurred at 1:45 p.m. as the motorcycle was westbound on Highway 14 in Klickitat County.
The motorcycle, which was towing a small trailer, ran off the right side of the road and came to rest in the eastbound lane.
The motorcycle sustained $3,000 damage, the report said.
Both were wearing helmets.
