A Port Angeles man was hurt Wednesday afternoon when he crashed his motorcycle on U.S. Highway 97 about 20 miles south of Toppenish, the Washington State Patrol reported.
Karl Schach, 60, was flown to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital, where he remained in the emergency department Wednesday evening, a nursing supervisor said.
Troopers said Schach was southbound about 1:20 p.m. when his 2005 Harley-Davidson drifted to the right, left the roadway and hit rocks. He was thrown off.
He was wearing a helmet. Intoxicants were not suspected, according to a State Patrol news release.
