The Army Corps of Engineers plans public tours of the Washington Fish View Room and navigation lock at the McNary Dam at 10 a.m. Saturdays and Sundays through July 1.
"The sockeye run should be arriving at McNary Dam soon, and the Washington ladder provides a great chance to see them as they pass the dam," said park ranger Ben Nelson.
Participants should check in with the security guard at the Washington-side gate to McNary Dam before the tour starts. A park ranger will begin the tour at the navigation lock visitor center.
Visitors 18 and older must show photo ID. Cameras, backpacks, cellphones, purses and bags are not allowed inside secure areas.
Never miss a local story.
To reach the dam, take Exit 131 from Highway 82 and follow the road to the north entrance of the dam.
