--Hillcrest Memorial Center's annual Memorial Day balloon release is noon to 1:30 p.m. at the center, 9353 W. Clearwater Ave., Kennewick.
There will be an open house, free hot dogs, beverages and cookies.
Attendees are asked to bring a balloon in remembrance of a loved one.
--American Legion Post 34 will hold two Memorial Day military ceremonies.
The first will begin at 10 a.m. at City Vie--Cemetery, 1300 N. Oregon Ave., Pasco.
The second will begin at 1 p.m. at Columbia Gardens, 224 S. 24th Ave., Pasco.
A lunch will begin at 2:30 p.m. at 1029 W. Sylvester St., Pasco. Ste--and cornbread will be served.
--9 a.m., Veterans Affairs Chapel, Jonathan M. Wainwright VA Medical Center, Walla Walla. Memorial Day service honoring veterans who have died. Special address by Kim Rodgers of the Walla Walla Vet Center, and music by VA employee Ann Lehman. Guests may bring floral tributes and leave them for distribution later.
--Memorial service, 9:30 a.m., Outlook Cemetery and 11 a.m. Lower Valley Memorial Gardens. Followed by a lunch at the VFW Post.
