WEST RICHLAND -- A fundraiser for Miette Nelson, 5, of West Richland, who is battling a rare cancer, Ewing's sarcoma, will be at 5 p.m. Sunday.
The Par-Tea will be at the Northwest Region Food Hub, 603 Goethals Drive, Richland. The tea will include scones, tea sandwiches, veggie cups, a chilled soup, strawberries and brownie bites. Cost is $20 per person.
Several artists will be selling their crafts with proceeds going into an account set up at Gesa Credit Union for the Nelson family. All proceeds will go into Miette's account.
Miette and her family must move to the Spokane area for the next seven months for her to undergo chemotherapy and surgery to remove the tumor from her shin.
Never miss a local story.
Reservations are recommended. Register online at shopthenorthwest.com.
The fundraiser is sponsored by West Meadow Gardens, a Richland business offering a wide variety of teas.
