The Port of Kennewick is looking for a commissioner to represent District 1 after the retirement of commissioner David Hanson.
Those interested must submit an application with proof of voter registration and residency in District 1 to the Port of Kennewick by 5 p.m. April 27.
The selected candidate will serve as commissioner until after the November 2013 general election, when voters will chose who will serve the remainder of the term, which expires Dec. 31, 2015.
District 1 lies north ofInterstate 82 and Highway 397, east of Leslie Road,south of Gage Boulevard and west of Gum Street. It includes southeast Richland/Meadow Springs, central and west Kennewick and Southridge/ Canyon Lakes neighborhoods.

Candidates will be interviewed during a special meeting 6 p.m. May 9 at the Tri-Cities Business & Visitor Center, 7130 W. Grandridge Blvd., in Kennewick.
