Five people were injured after the 1992 Volvo they were in hit a guardrail on Frog Hollow Road about five miles east of Walla Walla late Friday.
Ashley R. O'Neil, 22, of Milton-Freewater, lost control of the car on a curve at about 11:27 p.m. near Valley Chapel Road, according to Washington State Patrol.
The car was totaled. O'Neil was flown to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland and later was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where she was listed in critical condition Saturday afternoon.
Her four passengers -- Mari G. Swinnerton, 17, Charles A. Buettner, 25, Tanner L. Homewood, 21, and Chantal M. Brown, 22, all of Walla Walla -- were transported to Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla with injuries.

Drugs or alcohol are suspected, according to Washington State Patrol. Everyone was wearing seat belts. The crash is under investigation.
