The Kennewick School District is planning a district-wide language arts curriculum adoption for grades six through twelve.
The public is invited to review and comment on the new curriculum materials being proposed. The review and comment period will run from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to April 13 at the Kennewick School District Administration Center, 1000 W. Fourth Ave.
District Policy 2311 mandates that instructional materials intended for use by five or more students at a time must be made available for the public to review for 10 school/ business days.
Prior to public display, teams of parents and teachers analyze and evaluate the materials. Following the10-day public inspection, the departments' curricular advisory committee will review the reports before deciding to recommend or not recommend purchasing the materials.
Final decision for purchase rests with the school board.
