An investigation by Richland police into a YouTube video that showed an elementary student displaying possible weapons has been completed with a determination that no crime was committed, officials said.
The 10-year-old student at Ridge View Elementary in Kennewick was expelled from school while district officials investigated the video.
In the video, the boy holds up three guns -- two appeared to be fake -- and at the end of the video says the name of a classmate.
Kennewick police referred the incident to Richland police after learning the video was made at a relative's home in Richland.
Richland police Capt. Mike Cobb told the Herald that no crime was committed by the child, but they were investigating whether the boy's father was unlawfully possessing a weapon.
The father is a convicted felon and is not allowed to possess or own firearms.
However, Cobb said detectives determined the firearms belonged to a different family member and there was no violation.
