A 63-year-old Prosser woman was killed Tuesday when she was run over by a car, authorities said.
The crash happened at 4:15 p.m. in the 1800 block of Meade Avenue.
Officers say Eileen Bradley had been walking down the sidewalk when a pickup backed over her.
Bradley has been blind since birth, but Prosser police Detective Mark Cole said he did not know what role that played, the Yakima Herald-Republic reported.
Bradley, who lived a few blocks away, was known for walking around Prosser frequently, using a cane to feel her way around, the newspaper said.
The driver of the truck, Jack Stroh, 66, of Prosser, said he didn't see Bradley walking as he backed out of a residential driveway.
Bradley was taken to PMH Medical Center in Prosser, where she was pronounced dead.
