The high wind warning for the Mid-Columbia will last until 11 p.m. today, according to the National Weather Service.
Areas of blowing dust are predicted in the Tri-City area today after 10 a.m. Winds with sustained speeds of 31 to 37 mph with gusts as high as 55 mph are expected in the Tri-Cities.
The wind should moderate tonight, but gusts as high as 46 mph still are expected.
On Sunday, a 30 percent chance of rain is forecast in the Tri-Cities. Elevations above 900 feet may get snow. Sunday night, the chance of precipitation is slight, but the snow level will drop to 500 feet. Much of the Tri-Cities is at about 400 feet.
