The wind is expected to blow at 50 mph today with gusts as high as 65 mph in the Tri-Cities, according to the National Weather Service.
It issued a high wind warning for the Mid-Columbia from 10 p.m. Tuesday through 10 p.m. today.
Gusts of up to 60 mph were expected Tuesday night. But the wind should start to die down from sustained speeds this evening of 45 to 50 mph to 15 to 20 mph in the morning.
The wind overnight Tuesday and continuing today is expected to be strong enough to easily toss around loose objects and down large tree limbs and power lines, according to the weather service's Pendleton office.
