The National Weather Service has issued a high wind watch starting tonight for the Mid-Columbia.
As intense low pressure approaches the Pacific Northwest, winds are expected to increase tonight and become stronger by early Wednesday. They should start to drop Wednesday evening.
Wind gusts of 50 to 60 mph are predicted in parts of southern Washington and northern Oregon. However, the Tri-Cities is not expected to get the worst of the wind.
Tonight, expect sustained wind speeds of up to 28 mph with gusts as strong as 41 mph in the Tri-Cities. Wednesday, sustained wind speeds of 26 mph with gusts as high as 39 mph are predicted.
