RICHLAND -- The Washington State Patrol said two adults and four children were injured when their van was rear-ended by a speeding, intoxicated driver in Richland.
Lateef al-Salehi and Yusraa Aziz were traveling on Highway 240 in the van with four children ages 7 to 11 around 1:30 a.m. Sunday. Investigators said a Hyundai driven by 23-year-old Christopher Lundy of Kennewick drove up from behind, struck the back of the van and forced it off the road, where it rolled.
Lundy wasn't injured, but he was arrested for investigation of vehicular assault.
All six people in the van were taken to Kadlec Hospital in Richland. A nursing supervisor said the adults were treated and released Sunday morning, but she could not release information about the children.
