WALLA WALLA --Former Walla Walla High School classmates of Alma Morrow Cox, a 1963 alumna, are rallying around their friend after her Pasco home was damaged in a fire in early November.
Classmates Tom Fox and Virgene Thomas sent an appeal for Alma, who has obtained temporary housing and is rebuilding with the help of agencies and friends.
The Tri-City Herald posted a story Nov. 7 that reported the cat in the Cox home alerted Alma's son Tyler Cox, 30, to the fire.
The U.S. Bank branch in Pasco has a fund set up to assist Alma. "We would like give everyone the opportunity to help," her friends said via email.
