RICHLAND -- Only a handful of booths remain for businesses wanting to recruit new employees Tuesday at the career fair at Washington State University Tri-Cities.
WSU Tri-Cities and WorkSource Columbia Basin are partnering to welcome laid-off Hanford workers to the event, and about 1,000 job seekers are expected.
The Career Fair is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. -- with a special early entry hour at 10 a.m. for WSU Tri-Cities students who show a current college ID -- in the Consolidated Information Center at 2770 Crimson Way in Richland.
Admission is free for job-seekers, but there might be a line to get in.
Never miss a local story.
There will be a "fast pass" entrance line for students with current IDs.
Employer booths are available for $35 each and may be reserved at www.tricity.wsu.edu/careerfair.
Businesses, public organizations and not-for-profit agencies are invited to meet prospective employees or promote internships and volunteer opportunities.
Three 45-minute workshops for job-seekers are planned: At 11:15 a.m. will be interviewing skills, at 12:15 p.m. resume writing and at 3 p.m. a session on starting your own business.
Job-seekers also can get fast feedback from the Resume Doctor between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
The Career Development Center can be reached at 372-7600 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
