A 77-year-old Waitsburg woman was hurt Thursday afternoon in a crash on Highway 12 west of Dayton, the Washington State Patrol reported.
Esther Kirkwood was driving her 1995 Subaru Impreza on the west side of the highway about 4 p.m. behind a 1982 Toyota pickup driven by Edward T. Shafer, 41, of Dixie.
As Shafer slowed to make a turn, Kirkwood hit the back of his pickup.
Kirkwood was taken to Dayton General Hospital with unknown injuries.
Shafer was not hurt.
