Several events will be to observe national domestic violence awareness month:
-- A "Walking Fearless Rally" will begin at 5:15 p.m. Thursday in John Dam Plaza in Richland, followed by an annual candlelight vigil at 6:15 p.m. The event features 32 life-sized silhouettes representing every victim killed as a result of domestic violence in our community since 1998.
-- Heather Stark, author of Why Doesn't She Just Leave will attend a breakfast sponsored by the Pasco Police Department and Kennewick Community Education. The breakfast is from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Tri-Tech Skills Center, 5929 W Metaline Ave. Registration is $35 and includes a copy of the book.
