Pasco elementary schools are looking for a few special people who like kids and would like to help them improve their reading skills.
As little as a half-hour per week of one-on-one help can make a huge difference in a child's performance, officials say. Project Literacy will prepare you to be work as a tutor. No special skills are required, but you will be asked to make a commitment of at least a half-hour per week for the duration of the school year.
Bilingual tutors are especially needed, but Spanish is not required. To apply, call Diane Hart at 547-6607 or email email@example.com. Research shows that success in school starts with reading.
Project Literacy is a program of Regional Service Corps, which is a part of the AmeriCorps National Service Network.
