KENNEWICK -- About 38,000 rubber duckies floated on the Columbia River on Saturday to raise money for charity.
The 23rd Annual Rotary Mid-Columbia Duck Race brought in almost $200,000, which will go to 75 area nonprofits, said Jeremy Asmus, a Rotary spokesman.
Duck racers stood in line early Saturday to purchase $5 tickets.
The rubber toys were released at noon.
Kirby Amacker of Richland won the grand prize -- a brand-new Toyota Camry.
The second-fastest duck bore Jim LaPlante's name, winning him a full assortment of home appliances.
Jeff Shearer won a fire pit, and Dennis Nichols got one free coffee a day for a year.
An anonymous donor had written "Safe Harbor Crisis Nursery" on the ticket that came in fifth. The nonprofit now will receive a professional security system.
