A Kennewick man was uninjured but ended up in Benton County jail early Sunday after his vehicle struck a traffic light pole on George Washington Way around 6:15 a.m.
Richland police arrested Bradley Wilkerson, 25, of Kennewick, on suspicion of driving under the influence.
He was traveling north on Highway 240 and merging onto George Washington Way when his vehicle drifted across seven lanes of traffic and struck a light pole at Columbia Point, shearing it from its base, police said.
Wilkerson told police he had been drinking since 8:30 p.m. Saturday and had at least three drinks within a half-hour before the crash, police said.
His breath alcohol measured .223. The legal limit in the Washington is .08.
