For the first time since Hanford began keeping temperature records in 1945, August started without a high temperature reaching 100 degrees this summer, according to the Hanford Meteorology Station.
And the high temperatures still are not there a week into the month. The highest temperature so far this month was 98 degrees Thursday.
Nor is 100 degrees expected next week. The National Weather Service is predicting highs in central Hanford in the upper 80s to mid-90s through Sunday.
Typically, Hanford would have had eight days with 100 degrees by now.
